Axcess Nordic A/S was founded the 30th of November 2011 as a joint venture between Axcess A/S and IT Works A/S. Both companies has more than a decade experience within the IT-industry each with a different size and market focus. Axcess has 130 employees and is a leading supplier of network solutions in Denmark, targeted at a diversified group of clients. Looking back, the Axcess Nordic market strategy was inspired by IT Works. A small start-up team who took the first steps towards a singular trading IT focus.
IT Works was founded in May 1998 as a service provider to Reuters Denmark. They handled client installations, maintenance and support for Reuters’ clients in Denmark and southern Sweden. Since that time, they have expanded their areas of expertise to include assisting clients with all aspects of trading floor infrastructure.
In 2004, they entered into a partnership with British Telecom (BT), which involved handling an installation and maintenance contract.
In 2005, they began collaborating with WEY Technology, a global provider of electronic trader workstations, headquartered in Switzerland. The initial agreement involved handling all client installations and on-site support for WEY clients in Denmark. The relationship soon expanded, and they now served as a sole partner for WEY in the Nordic region. During the course of their partnership, they helped WEY to grow their Nordic client base by 180% (in terms of number of users of WEY workstations) and they administered agreements covering over 250 users (licenses) for WEY clients, including Danske Bank, SEB, Sydbank, Nykredit and Nordea.
In 2010, IT Works took a considerable strategic step forward that involved a complete relaunch of the company, an expansion of the partnership network and the opening of a data center and showroom in central Copenhagen.
In 2011, IT Works and Axcess signed a merger agreement, commiting both companies to work for a stronger trading IT market positioning through Axcess Nordic.
IT Works is pleased to announce that we have entered into a definitive joint venture agreement with Axcess, a leading Danish systems- and network integrator. Adding value to our clients is a key priority and the addition of Axcess to the IT Works financial community will allow us to take our trading IT solutions to a higher level.
